SQUISHY GUIDE

What is a squishy? Types, shapes and how to compare

Understand squishy toys, food shapes, glitter finishes and mystery boxes, with a practical way to compare listings.

A name for a squeezable toy

A squishy is a toy that compresses when squeezed and returns toward its original shape. The word describes a style of toy, not a single material or a guaranteed level of softness. Do not assume two toys with the same shape feel alike: check the construction and the seller’s specifications for each model.

Shape, finish and packaging are different choices

Food shapes include dumplings and bao-style buns. Glitter describes appearance; it does not establish texture or recovery speed. A mystery box describes how a variant is selected or packaged. A multipack describes the number of pieces. Compare these attributes separately rather than treating them as interchangeable types.

Compare a listing before buying

Start with the number of pieces, exact dimensions, selectable colors and seller. Check whether the pictured design is guaranteed or sent at random. Our current catalog focuses on glitter dumpling listings, so it does not cover every squishy style. Marketplace images illustrate those listings; we have not performed hands-on tests of these products.
